For
Our Society
We are committed to fostering a supportive and transparent community for our members.
At Kirurumwe Farmers' Cooperative Society, we are committed to fostering a supportive and transparent community for our members. Our initiatives focus on empowering farmers, ensuring financial stability, and maintaining high-quality facilities to produce exceptional coffee.
Organization Training
We provide training on effective organizational practices, helping farmers to manage their farms and cooperative activities more efficiently. This includes lessons on leadership, team management, and strategic planning.
Financial Support for Farmers
To support our farmers' livelihoods, we provide cherry advance whenever possible. This assistance is crucial, especially when there are delays in receiving payments from coffee auctions. Our goal is to ensure that our farmers' needs are met and that their livelihoods are protected.
Farm Inputs
We distribute essential farm inputs, such as fertilizers and other supplies, to our farmers to support their coffee production efforts. By providing these resources, we help our farmers maintain and improve their coffee yields.
Annual General Meeting
We hold an Annual General Meeting (AGM) every coffee year. During this meeting, we publish and explain our financial statements to ensure transparency and accountability.
This meeting also provides a platform for farmers to voice their concerns and suggestions, making our society more member-driven.
Networking with other societies
Collaboration with Embu county union level with support from KOICA, GNGIF and GNK and inviting fellow coffee unions to various expertise trainings and networking
Committee
Each committee meets regularly every month to ensure the smooth and active functioning of the Kirurumwe Farmer Cooperative Society.
Through these meetings, each committee’s activities are organized and planned for our Kirurumwe farmers and for better coffee quality.
By undertaking these activities, Kirurumwe Farmers' Cooperative Society is committed to enhancing the quality of coffee, promoting sustainable farming practices, and supporting the livelihoods of our members.
